Cookd
A browser extension that turns College Board's free SAT Question Bank into a test-day practice screen and keeps an honest record of each question: the first answer, the time against the test's pace, changed answers and why a question was missed.
- Availability
- Live and free. The extension installs from cookd.thatlev.com, and an account is optional.
- Built for
- Students preparing for the digital SAT who practice with the official Question Bank.
- Platform
- Chrome, Brave, Edge or Firefox on a computer
What Cookd does
Open any question in the Question Bank and Cookd shows it the way test day does: the passage and the question side by side, the answer choices with the cross-out tool, Mark for Review, a timer, the calculator and reference sheet for Math, and Back and Next at the bottom. Check shows whether the answer was right, with the official explanation from the Question Bank.
While a student practices, Cookd records the first answer and any changes, the time against the pace the test needs, which choices were crossed out and, after a miss, the reason the student picks.
- First-try accuracy by skill and difficulty.
- Pace per question against test-day targets.
- A review list of the questions to redo, with notes.
- Timed practice sets, including sets an AI assistant builds from the mistakes.
What it never stores
Question text, passages, answer choices and explanations stay on College Board's page. Cookd keeps question IDs, topic labels and what the student did, so its stats and review list never copy the Question Bank.
With an AI assistant
Cookd connects to Claude and ChatGPT through MCP. A student can ask what they keep getting wrong, or for a 30-minute set from their mistakes, and the set appears in the extension, ready to run on the Question Bank.
Current limits
- It works on the Question Bank in a computer browser. On iPhone and iPad it needs Orion, a browser that runs Chrome and Firefox extensions.
- Cookd is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by College Board.
